2023 Award Nominations

The TCA Awards Committee is pleased to announce nominations are now being accepted for all statewide awards for 2023. All 2023 awards will be given at the TCA 2023 Annual Conference.

Available Awards

Dr. George J. Beto Hall of Honor
(Member or Non-Member)
This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to TCA and/or to the profession of corrections. Contributions to the profession may include: Professional development (academics, training, programs, continuing education, or certification); years of service in the profession; support of the association (committee service, conference attendance, holding office, years of membership, volunteer efforts); publication, research, program development.

Clarence N. Stevenson Memorial Award
(Member)
The award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions over an extended period of time to the corrections profession. Nominations should include a description of the nominee's contributions to and impact on the field of corrections, and may impact on the field of corrections, and may include supportive materials such as articles and letters of recommendation.

Ellen Halbert Crime Victims Advocacy Award
(Member or Non-Member)
The award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated effective advocacy for the rights of crime victims at the local, state or national level and who has exhibited understanding and compassion in his/her efforts on behalf of crime victims.

Outstanding Adult Corrections Line Officer
(Member)
The Dr. George J. Beto Hall of Honor, Ellen Halbert Crime Victims Advocacy Media Awards, and Star Award recipients are not required to be members of TCA. Other award recipients must have been active members of TCA for the past year. All nominators must be current TCA members.

Outstanding Adult Corrections Administrator
(Member)
The awards recognize oustanding professionals who work in adult institutions, parole, or probation.

Outstanding Juvenile Corrections Line Officer
(Member)

Amador Rodriguez Memorial Award for an Outstanding Juvenile Corrections Administrator
(Member)
The awards recognize outstanding professionals who work in juvenile institutions, parole, or probation.

Merit Award for Media Excellence
(Member or Non-Member)
The award recognizes outstanding media professionals who have diligently worked to cover corrections with accuracy, fairness, and balance, particularly those who are open to positive news.

TCA Stars
(Member or Non-Member)
The awards recognize the unsung heroes who make a difference in our profession. They include outstanding volunteers, people whose spirit motivates others, people who enthusiastically tackle new projects, who exhibit amazing courage, who go above and beyond the call of duty, who are trail blazers with new ideas, and people whose generosity has helped ensure a program's success.
