The TCA Awards Committee is pleased to announce nominations are now being accepted for all statewide awards for 2025. All 2025 awards will be given at the 2024 Annual TCA Conference, June 8–11, 2025 in Allen, TX.

Organization Awards

Dr. George J. Beto Hall of Honor
(Member or Non-Member)
This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to TCA and/or to the profession of corrections. Contributions to the profession may include: Professional development (academics, training, programs, continuing education, or certification); years of service in the profession; support of the association (committee service, conference attendance, holding office, years of membership, volunteer efforts); publication, research, program development.

Clarence N. Stevenson Memorial Award
(Member)
The award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions over an extended period of time to the corrections profession. Nominations should include a description of the nominee's contributions to and impact on the field of corrections, and may include supportive materials such as articles and letters of recommendation.

Ellen Halbert Crime Victims Advocacy Award
(Member or Non-Member)
The award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated effective advocacy for the rights of crime victims at the local, state or national level and who has exhibited understanding and compassion in his/her efforts on behalf of crime victims.

Merit Award for Media Excellence
(Member or Non-Member)
The award recognizes outstanding media professionals who have diligently worked to cover corrections with accuracy, fairness, and balance, particularly those who are open to positive news.

TCA Stars
(Member or Non-Member)
The awards recognize the unsung heroes who make a difference in our profession. They include outstanding volunteers, people whose spirit motivates others, people who enthusiastically tackle new projects, who exhibit amazing courage, who go above and beyond the call of duty, who are trail blazers with new ideas, and people whose generosity has helped ensure a program's success.

Outstanding Juvenile Corrections Line Officer
(Member)
The Outstanding Juvenile Corrections Line Officer Award is presented to an exceptional line officer in the field of juvenile corrections who consistently demonstrates outstanding dedication, strong character, perseverance, and unwavering integrity in their work. This award recognizes the individual's exceptional ability to positively impact the lives of young offenders under their supervision and support their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Amador Rodriguez Memorial Award for an Outstanding Juvenile Corrections Administrator

The awards recognize outstanding professionals who work in juvenile institutions, parole, or probation.

Outstanding Adult Corrections Line Officer
(Member)
The award recognizes outstanding professionals who work in adult institutions or probation who consistently demonstrate outstanding dedication, strong character, perseverance, and unwavering integrity in their work. This award recognizes the individual’s exceptional ability to positively impact the lives of offenders under their supervision and support their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Outstanding Adult Corrections Administrator

The awards recognize outstanding professionals who work in adult institutions, parole, or probation.

Residential Services Line Staff of the Year

The Residential Services Line Staff of the Year award is bestowed upon an exceptional individual who demonstrates outstanding dedication, compassion, and skill as a direct line staff member in a residential facility. This prestigious accolade recognizes their unwavering commitment to providing exemplary care, support, and guidance to the residents under their supervision.

Residential Services Resident of the Year
(Member)
The Residential Services Resident of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding individual who, despite previous incarceration, has demonstrated exceptional dedication, growth, and commitment towards embracing the mission and objectives of a residential facility. This esteemed award acknowledges the recipient's remarkable efforts in rehabilitating, readjusting, and learning to adapt to various challenges they have encountered along their transformative journey.

Residential Services Program of the Year
(Member)
The Residential Services Program of the Year award recognizes an exceptional criminal justice program that has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the rehabilitation and reintegration of criminal offenders.
